Dropping my health club membership last year was a difficult decision. For decades getting up and driving to work out at the gym meant accountability. It also was a place to meet new awesome people. As the years passed, I realized I was spending money for the same workouts I could do at home. What have I learned from canceling my membership?

  1. Home workouts and exercise are extremely convenient. You throw on your clothes and you’re out the door.
  2. Exercise doesn’t have a time limit. You can do it any time you choose.
  3. You can meet awesome people in your neighborhood or grab a friend and do it together.
  4. Accountability has do with the person, not the place.
  5. Getting outside and enjoying God’s creation is refreshing – no matter what the temperature.
  6. You don’t need a membership or a lot of money to stay fit and healthy.

If you haven’t worked out in a long time, talk to your doctor first. Then, start slow, get outside and get moving.

I’ll be adding at home and outdoor exercises that will get you back in shape – at any age.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
